A selection of stitched artwork
Pieces combine multiple techniques including Slow Stitching Hand Embroidery, Machine Stitching and Needle felting.
Textile Art pieces are intensely stitched, include abstract elements,
have frayed edges and bold bright colours.
Select Textile Art pieces can be seen in various publications
including the 2018 book, 350+ Quilting Tips, Techniques & Trade Secrets.
Inspired by make do and mend, stitched works are small, meant to be held and touched while also being ready to hang on a wall, unframed, supported by sleeves or loops or mounted onto canvas.
As a Canadian Textile Artist, subject matter is specific to my context and hopefully universal in its connection to cloth and fibre as a part of our daily lives.
